This beautiful Erte cuff bracelet is also featured in the book "Erte Art T Wear." This book will be included with the sale of this bracelet/cuff. La Gamine is a limited edition of 600 pieces. The cuff is signed and stamped and was purchased by me in the early 1990s. I have never worn it, so it is in perfect condition. It is made of sterling silver, 14-karat gold, and adorned with a small diamond, mother-of-pearl, and onyx. Erte is best known for his depictions of beautiful women. La Gamine is a typical representation of the classic flapper girl of the Roaring Twenties.

The cuff measures 7 cm at its widest point and has an inner diameter of 5.7 cm. Stamped 29/600.

Artist Biography
Biography of Erte (Romaine de Tirtoff)
Erte: Father of Art Deco: Romaine de Tirtoff was born Roman Petrovich Tyrtov in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire, into a distinguished family. His father, Pyotr Ivanovich Tyrtov, was an admiral of the Russian fleet. In 1910-1912, Romain Erte moved to Paris to pursue a career as a fashion designer. This decision was made despite the strong objections of his father, who wanted Romain to continue the family tradition and become a naval officer. Romain then adopted his pseudonym to avoid bringing shame on the family. In 1915, he landed his first major contract with Harper's Bazaar magazine and pursued a distinguished career, notably in costume and set design for theater. Erte© is perhaps best known for his elegant fashion creations, which reflect the Art Deco period in which he worked.
