Garrett Leight

Grey

Mr. Leight never made this color as sunglasses. But I did.

The Truffle color for the Billie is only available as an optical frame. As an optician with over 20 years of experience, I have inspected, refurbished, and fitted them with new sun lenses: Dusk Gradient, lightweight, shatterproof, with a backside anti-reflective coating. The result is not available in any store.

Behind Mr. Leight are Larry Leight, co-founder of Oliver Peoples, and his son Garrett. They are handmade in Japan: Beta-titanium, Japanese acetate, engraved details down to the bridge. The sister model Billie S costs €615 new in other colorways. As sunglasses, Truffle is not even in the catalog.

The round panto shape is feather-light, flatters narrow to medium faces, and has a pleasantly mature look, more jazz club than beach bar. And if you wear glasses daily: the frame can be fitted with prescription lenses at any time.
