Vintage Ingersoll Military Style 24 Hours Hand-Winding Men's Wristwatch | Works

A purposeful and well-preserved Ingersoll military field watch, reference 3307, with a bold matte black dial, crisp white Arabic numerals, an inner 24-hour track, and tritium lume dots at each hour — a Swiss manual wind tool watch built for legibility and hard use.

Ingersoll has a long history as a maker of dependable, no-frills timepieces going back to the nineteenth century, and by the 1960s and 1970s the brand was producing Swiss-made field watches that borrowed heavily from military specification designs. The “T SWISS MADE T” marking on the dial confirms tritium luminous material, placing this example firmly in the post-1963 era.

The matte black dial is in excellent condition with no fading or lifting, and the lume dots at each hour position retain their warm cream colour. The acrylic crystal has light surface scratches consistent with age but no deep gouges or chips. The case shows normal wear on its chrome finish, with a few marks on the lugs and bezel — honest patina for a working watch of this vintage.

It is presented on a black croc-pattern leather strap that suits the utilitarian aesthetic well. At 34.7mm the case is a classic mid-century field watch size — compact enough for daily wear but bold enough to read at a glance, which was rather the point.

Vintage military-style field watches are perennially popular, and this Ingersoll offers an honest, wearable example at a sensible price — a proper working watch with a straightforward character and seventy years of service in its DNA.
