Mens Accurist Wristwatch 1950s 21 Jewels As 1187Accurist 21 Jewels Antimagnetic

An elegant 1950s Accurist 21 Jewels Antimagnetic in a polished stainless steel case, presenting a beautifully balanced two-tone dial with a textured honeycomb outer chapter ring, smooth inner section, applied gold Arabic numerals at the cardinals and applied gold dagger markers in between — powered by a 21-jewel Swiss manual-wind movement.

Accurist has been a familiar name in British-marketed Swiss watches since 1946, and this piece sits firmly in the firm's mid-century catalogue. The dial proudly proclaims “21 Jewels” and “Antimagnetic” — both highly desirable specifications of the era — and a glance at the movement reveals a beautifully gilt-finished Swiss calibre with two adjustments, signed “Accurist” in script across the bridge.

The dial has aged gracefully and remains very crisp: applied gold Arabic numerals at twelve, three, six and nine, applied gold dagger markers in between with black tritium centres, gold dauphine hour and minute hands and a slim red-tipped centre seconds. The polished steel case shows light, honest wear consistent with age, and the caseback is engraved with the script “Accurist” signature.

It is fitted to a black crocodile-pattern leather strap, a thoroughly fitting pairing for a 1950s gentleman's dress watch. On the wrist the proportions are pure mid-century: a modest 33mm round case, slim profile and unmistakably elegant lugs — equally at home with a shirt cuff or worn casually.

A pleasing example of mid-century British-Swiss Accurist watchmaking with all the right design cues: textured two-tone dial, applied gold mixed indices and a gilt 21-jewel Swiss movement. A characterful and very wearable everyday vintage piece.
