ORIENT MULTI YEAR CALENDAR RA-BA0003L10B "Vintage" style watch for men from the Japanese brand Orient. Orient Watch Co Ltd. was founded in Japan in 1950 and became part of the Seiko Group in 2009. They make their own movements. The Multi Year Calendar collection was first presented in 1965. Through a simple but ingenious mechanism, its movement allows for the calendar function that indicates day of the month, day of the week, month and year, with a validity of 23 years ( from the year 2021 to 2043 in the present case). To achieve this, it has a disc printed on the movement with the years and days of the week. When the dial is rotated and the year is below the corresponding month at the top of the dial, the days of the week appear above the respective day of the month at the bottom of the dial. In the first versions of the movement, to turn the disc a second crown was necessary in addition to the usual one for setting the time and the day of the month. In this version (the most recent, presented in 2021), the movement has improved, now requiring a single crown to make all the adjustments, something that results in a more balanced appearance. It also adds the function of stop seconds and manual winding that previous versions did not have. The larger size of the dial and the narrower bezel allow for a larger size of the calendar characters, greatly improving legibility over previous versions. The brand regularly prepares an updated version of the Multi-Year Calendar disc to be able to replace it in an Orient official store or service and thus have the display of the year and day of the week updated. 43.5mm polished stainless steel case except for the lugs which are brushed. Water resistant 5 ATM (50 m). Narrow fixed polished stainless steel bezel. Blue dial with radial iridescent effect with applied hour markers in polished facetted metal, painted month indicator and semicircular window to indicate the year at the top and painted day of the month indicator and semicircular window to indicate the day of the week on the upper part. the bottom. Outer ring of the dial with white painted minute indices. Metal brand logo applied at 9 o'clock on the dial. Central "dauphine" hands in polished metal for the hours and minutes and in polished metal for the seconds. Day of the month indicator framed in a white painted box at 3 o'clock. Automatic mechanical movement made in Japan Orient F6D22 manufacture of 22 jewels and 21600 vibrations per hour, Diashock shock absorption, complete calendar from the year 2021 to 2043, manual winding and stop seconds. About 40 hours of power reserve. Polished stainless steel screw-down caseback with central mineral glass window that allows you to see the operation of the movement. Toothed crown in polished stainless steel embossed with the brand's logo to adjust the time and the calendar at 3 o'clock. Stainless steel bracelet with alternately brushed (outer and central segments) and polished links. Brushed stainless steel folding clasp with brand name and logo engraving and polished safety pushers. ORIENT MULTI YEAR CALENDAR RA-BA0003L10B
