Vintage Prada Sport reversible technical jacket in an icy Celestino / Astral blue and deep chocolate brown, made in Italy.

The pale, slightly metallic blue is particularly characteristic of Prada Sport’s late-1990s and early-2000s technical aesthetic. Often referred to by collectors as Celestino, icy blue or Astral blue, this cool futuristic palette became closely associated with Prada’s technical outerwear of the period, particularly when contrasted with the red Prada Sport detailing and darker earth tones.

Here, the combination is especially effective: one side is finished in the luminous pale blue with a subtle technical sheen, while the fully reversible side changes the jacket completely into a rich chocolate brown. The juxtaposition of a cool technical colour with an earthy brown is very much in keeping with the unexpected colour combinations associated with Prada’s turn-of-the-century sportswear.

Lightly padded rather than simply a thin windbreaker, the jacket has a substantial but streamlined construction and two genuinely wearable sides.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Clean, structurally excellent and very well preserved overall. There is a small superficial pressure/crease mark on the brown side (shown to the right wearer side of zipper in photo) and a minor thread pull on the back of blue side, both discreet and shown in the photographs. Neither affects the wearability or structure of the jacket.

A particularly attractive example of Prada Sport’s early technical outerwear, combining a period-specific icy blue palette, contrasting red detailing and a completely reversible chocolate-brown side.
