D squared rare sneakers from the 2004 Olympics (never worn) Strappy sandals were the favorite footwear of the ancient Greeks, but given the chance, we're sure they'd snag a pair shoes by Dean and Dan Caten. The twin designers behind the DSquared brand have created a special, limited-edition Olympic sneaker, launching globally just in time for the 2004 Athens Summer Games. The shoe's white leather design, which features colorful inserts and emblems such as torches, rings and fraternity lettering, was first designed for Greek Vogue who commissioned specially designed products from various international designers. Dean and Dan were so pleased with the results that they decided to create 400 pairs of shoes and distribute them to select retail, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Jeffrey New York and Selfridges as well as Vierri and DAAD in Milan.
