Vintage Eda Rose Couture Occasion Hat for Harrods, Knightsbridge – 1998
An exceptional vintage couture occasion hat by celebrated British milliner Eda Rose, purchased from Harrods, Knightsbridge in 1998.
Handmade in England, this striking and highly sculptural design features a wool felt base wrapped in pink silk and adorned with dramatic silk roses in vibrant shades of pink and cerise. The composition is framed by sweeping millinery veiling, creating a bold and elegant silhouette typical of high-end British occasion wear.
The hat retains its original Eda Rose and Harrods labels and is accompanied by its original Harrods green hat box (Box slightly used on the corners).
Eda Rose was renowned for her handcrafted couture millinery and her work was sold through Harrods to clients seeking distinctive hats for weddings, race meetings, garden parties and formal occasions. This piece is a beautiful example of late twentieth-century British millinery and would make a wonderful addition to a vintage fashion collection or be worn for Royal Ascot, a wedding or other special event.
Condition:
Excellent vintage condition. The silk flowers retain their vibrant colour, the veiling remains intact and the hat has been carefully stored in its original Harrods hat box. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
