Courrèges

Black

Paris, late 1980s: a black-leather backpack catches the light beneath the gold
signage of Courrèges’ Champs-Élysées boutique, its crisp silhouette a subtle nod
to the era when the brand’s logo adorned everyday objects ranging from umbrellas to
canvas tote bags. Structured yet compact, this Courrèges backpack is crafted from
textured black leather, with the front flap secured by a gold-tone clasp featuring
the house’s stylized AC monogram and “courrèges” in minimalist sans-serif
script.

Slim, adjustable leather straps and a top handle offer multiple carrying
options, complementing any wardrobe equally. Inside, the black fabric lining reveals
a clean interior with a zippered pocket and a slip compartment for essentials; the
hardware is gold-tone throughout, with light surface wear at high-contact points
but no major flaws.

The precise, logo-forward hardware and overall construction are characteristic
of Courrèges accessories from circa the late 1980s to early 1990s—a period when
the label’s space-age optimism was distilled into practical forms for daily use.
