MARITHÉ & FRANÇOIS GIRBAUD

Navy

A true archival fashion gem is now available for sale – an asymmetrical midi dress by the iconic French design duo Marithé François Girbaud, from the niche and highly sought-after Cravatatakiller line (late '90s/early '00s).

It's the quintessence of avant-garde deconstruction, combining whimsigoth aesthetics, fairy grunge, and refined, minimalist romanticism.

✨ Why is this style unique?

Luxurious premium fabric: Unlike cheaper, nylon versions of this style, this piece is made from the highest quality, refined blend of 70% viscose and 30% wool, which gives the knit incredibly softness, body, and a beautiful, flowing feel. The sleeves and sheer panels are made of pure silk (94% soy/silk) with a touch of elastane.

Deep, noble color: The dress is a beautiful deep navy blue, which shimmers beautifully against the silk elements and looks incredibly elegant.

Iconic Girbaud design: Beautiful, geometric ruching (smocking) at the neckline visually sculpts the silhouette, while the brand's signature spacious, draped side pockets create a unique, architectural tulip/parachute shape.

Condition: Perfect vintage condition (like new). The fabric shows absolutely no pilling, pinning, pulls, or other signs of wear.

📐 Measurements taken flat (the material is very stretchy and flexible):

Armpit width: 46 cm to 53 cm (x2)

Waist width: 45 cm to 55 cm (x2)

Hips: approx. 63 cm (x2)

Total length: approx. 106 cm

Label size: F 42 / I 46 / D 40 (corresponds to a modern M/L, and due to its stretchiness, it will fit perfectly).

An ideal investment for lovers of unique vintage pieces and brands like early Diesel, Ann Demeulemeester, or Yohji Yamamoto. The price reflects the rarity of the Cravatatakiller line and the impeccable, luxurious fabric composition.

I encourage you to purchase – another piece like this in this condition, color, and composition may never be seen again!
