Archive 1980s B-Basic by Body Map Asymmetrical Double-Faced Drape Coat.
A rare, highly wearable piece from "B-Basic," the iconic 1980s diffusion sportswear line by British designers Body Map.
This heavy jersey knit coat features an avant-garde asymmetrical front wrap, a massive oversized portrait collar, deep inset side pockets, and a beautiful double-faced contrast fabric (solid black exterior with a textured, speckled heather grey interior).
Provenance: Acquired directly from the designers Stall at Camden Market, I use to work on the stall at weekends, during their mid-80s London stall era. It is in impeccable mint condition with no pilling, snags, or shape distortion. Complete with the ultra-rare woven "B-Basic" dripping hand logo label.
This Jacket/ wrap will fit anyone and still look great regardless as the shape just works with everybody type.
So really it is one size fits all .
