This blazer is from late 1980s–early 1990. It is with gold buttons, Strong structured shoulders, Satin lapels, decorative sleeve embroidery and classic oversized tailored cut. This is a true vintage Escada piece, from the original founder era — which is the most desirable period for collectors.The “Escada Margaretha Ley” label was the label used for all Escada pieces during the lifetime of the founder of Escada brand Margaretha Ley. Pieces from her era (1978–1992) are considered the original and most collectible Escada designs.

Margaretha Ley, the founder and chief designer, died in 1992, after which the brand gradually removed her name from labels.
