MAJOR: THE MOST ICONIC PRADA

Miuccia Prada closed out her now most-coveted Spring 2009 runway collection with a series of crinkled, metallic gold ensembles. This fabric is the most luxurious and technically laborious and so expensive to create. The gold series of garments was only available to Prada clients via pre-order and was not commercially produced for stores, as they cost of materials and production was too expensive.

Documented in many editorials and famed fashion photographer Steven Meisel dedicated 2 separate images to this series of gold ensembles for Prada's Spring 2009 seasonal ad campaign, these pieces continue to be highly collectible and harder to find as the years go by. 

This breathtaking fabric –of wrinkled gold foil woven from metal and silk– shimmers in a stunning . “Rumpled and crinkled fabrics have been appearing all over this season,” wrote Vogue’s Sarah Mower after seeing the show, “but never with such sly intent.”

Features a cropped fit and a draped, cowl neck. Hook and eye closure down the front.

Shoulder to shoulder ~18 inches (slight drop to the shoulder). Armpit to armpit ~18.5 inches. Length ~15 (front, center, not including collar). Length ~ (back, center, not including collar). Sleeves ~22.25 inches. Armpit to bottom hem ~8.5 inches (front).

Overall excellent condition. Minor signs of wear that are consistent with the age and material of the garment. Quite a few runs / splits in the metal fabric, but this is the second one of these pieces that I've personally come into contact with and the wear is very slight on this compared to others on the market.
