Schiaparelli embellished asymmetrical blazer — FW24 RTW by Daniel Roseberry

This asymmetric blazer plays w/ proportion & ease — one shoulder bare, the other sharply framed — capturing Roseberry’s instinct for when to polish & when to provoke. Through this deconstructed jacket, he reinterprets Elsa Schiaparelli’s surreal totems as psychological shields, describing the house’s recurring anatomical & keyhole motifs as “a kind of armour.” (System Mag, 2024)

For Elsa, such symbols — eyes, locks, hearts — were never mere ornament; they spoke to identity, protection & beauty. Roseberry channels that same celestial code here, translated into gilt brass & resin: glassy eyes & keyholes glinting like secret portals along one sleeve, a polished gilt clasp encircling a faceted black resin medallion as its sole closure. Nearly a century apart, Daniel & Elsa somehow share a wavelength — both treating fashion as myth-making. Theoretics aside, this isn’t just wearable art; it’s precision-cut to flatter, teasing glimpses of skin through keyhole cut-outs — otherworldly, yet utterly of now.
