MAJOR: THE MIUCCIA PRADA RUNWAY BOW SKIRT

This skirt epitomizes the intellectual sensuality of Miuccia Prada's ready-to-wear. The skirt is crafted out of a cotton drill canvas, which is historically a utilitarian fabric. However, it's cut into a circle skirt (a feminine archetype) and finished with a contrast neoprene fabric finished with a scuba seam stitch.

Geometric plaques adorn the front and back. They're arranged in a pattern that evokes an abstract crocodile pattern.

This skirt was featured in the 2008 art exhibit of Miuccia Prada's skirts: "Waist Down | Skirts by Miuccia Prada" that toured the world. In the companion exhibit catalog this skirt is described in detail:

   " Piece together thick sportswear cotton drill along diagonal biases. 
    On top of that are sewn two large rectangular patches, each topped with a layer of thin plastic plaques shaped like "langue de chat" cookie forms and held in place with tiny beads. 
    The plaques are made of a special mixture and hot molded for the skirt.
    This is a skirt that brings together very different materials and fashion genres into a richly evocative expression. 
    Admittedly, it takes a certain resolve to don such a mass of heavy sports fabric, but the fun more than makes up for any handicap."

CONDITION
Very good condition with much life left. There is light wear consistent with the age and materials of the garment:
    There is some fading to the color throughout. 
    There is a light mark by the waist along the top of the front. 
    The plaques have some scratches / marks on them.
