SS00 ISSEY MIYAKE PLEATS PLEASE MILLENNIUM KRISHNA

One of the ultimate holy grails of 2000s archival fashion.

The Artistry Behind the Design

Tadanori Yokoo—a visionary artist who has defined eras through constant stylistic evolution—poured his signature overflowing energy into this single piece of fabric. Known since the 1960s for his legendary avant-garde stage art and posters, Yokoo’s work on the "Millennium Krishna" piece perfectly captures his acclaimed aesthetic.

The design features a striking, collage-style depiction of the Hindu deity Krishna, symbolizing a cosmic celebration for the new millennium. The garment is drenched in Yokoo's characteristic vivid primary colors and high-contrast tones, giving it a distinct psychedelic pop and pre-modern flair.

The bold, surreal layout transforms the garment into a living canvas.
